The other day we had to go for DIAL3 testing for Kindergarten - basically they see if your child is ready for Kindergarten and where they are academically so they can put together classes with a mix of skills (or so they say).
Sasha started off the day in a very free-spirited kind of way. The outfit she chose to wear to school, despite my encouragement otherwise, was a spring green flowered dress worn over a red tartan skirt coupled with her bright blue and yellow sandals. (They were taking pictures at preschool that day with the teacher so I'll need to get a copy and post it so you can get the full effect.)
By the time I saw her after work at the elementary school, Joe had managed to talk her out of the red tartan skirt. Her outfit had been supplemented during the day, however, with stickers that were on each cheek, her forehead and her nose.
The next day one of the mom's at the preschool told be that she had been talking to the teacher that had tested Sasha. Apparently, when the teacher asked Sasha if she had any brothers or sisters Sasha said "No". "You're the only child, then?" the teacher asked. "Yes." answered Sasha. A little while later the teacher took Sasha into another room for part of the test and saw Erika. "I'm guessing that that is your sister." the teacher says to Sasha "Oh. Yeah..."
